Keith Taylor is President/Chief Technology Office for Consultis Technology Group Inc. Prior to moving to Houston in June 2010, he served in the Department of Justice in the nation's capitol. He was confirmed by the United States Senate as the Information Technology Director of the Community Relations Service (CRS), U.S. Department of Justice, on March 13, 2004, from which he resigned in May 2010. Before serving at CRS, Keith was Chief Technology Officer of the Information Technology Security Council Section of the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice.
As Information Technology Director, Keith Taylor oversaw DOJ’s experience design and core technology initiatives (data, information systems, applications, processes, operations, databases and infrastructure) across all (10 regional offices and 4 field offices) business units. This role includes driving DOJ’s technology platform for designers and developers across desktops and devices, including the cross-operating system application runtime that bridges the computing power and data capabilities of the desktop with the real-time dynamic capabilities of the web. He also oversaw DOJ’s business development, federal relations programs, including the integration of customers and partners in the development process through DOJ’s and National Security Agency and customer advisory councils.
Before joining the Department of Justice, Mr. Taylor served as the Director for Micro General Corp. for over three-years. In this capacity, he developed the organization's first IT strategic plan and aided Chief Information Officers around the California Regions to envision and implement regional technology solutions, such as deploying wireless broadband and fiber-based network communications. Mr. Taylor was responsible for the IT budget, audits, security policies and deployment of organizational initiatives and risk assessments. He also Wrote a white paper on “Information Systems Security Intrusions” which was also published.
He holds an MBA from the Univ. of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business, and earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science from Univ. of Maryland College Park. Certified: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with a Federal TS/SSBI clearance.
